Ieri ho installato Ubuntu in dual-boot con Windows 10. Già dalla fase di installazione ho riscontrato un problema: in una qualsiasi fase dell'installazione il PC si bloccava e potevo muovere soltanto il mouse, senza poter premere niente (anche la rotellina del caricamento era bloccata). Sono Riuscito alla fine ad installare Ubuntu con la modalità "Safe Graphics" ma ho riscontrato lo stesso problema durante l'utilizzo del SO. Ho risolto cambiando i driver della scheda grafica (In seguito allego le caratteristiche del PC) da quelli predefiniti (Nouveau) a Nvidia Driver 440. Mi chiedo comunque quale differenza ci sia fra questi due driver, in termini di prestazioni.

Un altro problema che riscontro è che nella finestra "Driver aggiuntivi" c'è scritto che il dispositivo Wireless 7265 non funziona. In verità sono regolarmente connesso ad internet tramite connessione wireless, quindi mi chiedo quale sia il problema.

Un ultimo problema che ho riscontrato è la lentezza all'avvio. Impiego infatti fra i 60 e gli 80 secondi per l'accensione completa. Non avendo mai utilizzato Linux non so se siano dei tempi normali, dato che sono abituato a meno di 10 secondi con Windows 10 (dallo stesso notebook).

Non sono riuscito ad inserirlo come codice (come si fa dal commento?). Un poco meglio, anche se mi aspettavo comunque tempi minori. Hai qualche idea di quale possa essere il problema?

Ti ringrazio per l'aiuto, ma purtroppo non cambia niente. Qui dicono che disabilitare plymouth non serve. Ho provato a disabilitare NetworkManager-wait-online.service (come consigliavano), ma non ho ottenuto alcun cambiamento.

No, nulla.

La cartella conf.d è vuota.

Più tardi darò un'occhiata a questo link e ti farò sapere.

Mi chiedevo comunque se l'errore che ho con il driver per la scheda di rete potesse essere un problema. Tra l'altro mi sembra strano dato che la scheda di rete funziona bene.

Inoltre mi chiedevo anche con le caratteristiche hardware di cui dispongo, che tempi di avvio dovrei aspettarmi, dato che non capisco se veramente abbia un problema.

Si, una volta partito funziona tutto. Anche la rete. Ho notato che qualche volta quando apro qualche applicazione è un po lento (impiega anche 6/7 secondi).

Comunque ho dimenticato di dire che Ubuntu è installato su Hard Disk mentre Windows 10 sull'SSD. In ogni caso mi aspettavo molta più fluidità, quindi non credo sia questo il problema.

Da SSD va molto meglio. Evidentemente era questo il problema.

Mi resta comunque il dubbio per quanto riguarda la scheda wireless che funziona normalmente ma viene rilevata come non funzionante... Hai qualche idea?

Software e aggiornamenti ----> Driver Aggiuntivi

Intel Corporation: Wireless 7265 (Dual band wireless-AC 7265) con un pallino grigio affianco.

Sotto sta scritto "Questo dispositivo non funziona".

Posso selezionare solo l'opzione "Continua con un driver installato manualmente". Ho provato già a cercare un driver per questa scheda ma quando sono andato a copiarlo nella cartella firmware, ho visto che già ci stava una versione più recente.

Ho comunque provato a mettere anche quello che ho trovato ma non è cambiato niente.

mmm in quel punto, l'errore probabilmente si riferisce all'uso del relativo software

l'errore, se ci fosse, dovresti trovarlo tra i messaggi del kernel:
